Successful Web 2.0 innovation initiative for Bayer

Creative agency KKLD* will support Bayer to drive forward innovations as the company commits itself to Open Innovation. All employees will now be involved in the development of new services and products through the development of new Web 2.0 tools.

KKLD* developed a software-based Ideation tool for Bayer in 2009 which enables employees from all departments worldwide to develop common innovative ideas.

100,000 employees from all hierarchy levels worldwide can see, assess, comment on and further develop the ideas that have been entered. Therefore initial feedback comes from employees, duplicates are avoided and ideas are jointly further developed and refined.

The Markboard, a see-through snowboard, is one idea that made it to the market.

And Bayer continues to place its confidence in KKLD* as the pharmaceutical company has commissioned the creative agency to further develop the Open Innovation Tool for 2011. In addition KKLD* manages other Bayer Ideas Initiatives worldwide including the associated communication campaigns. These include both print and online communications and also workshops and innovation events.

World Contraception Day 2009 Campaign

For World Contraception Day 2009, we’ve developed a cross-media campaign to raise awareness for the event, and built an interactive online platform around the topic of contraception.

Under the WCD 2009 motto – “Let’s talk about it / Your life, your voice: Talk contraception” – young people worldwide are invited to talk openly about sex and contraception, take part in events, and participate in online surveys, competitions and discussions with the Youth Task Force.

Interactive Online Press Conference

On 09.24.2009, two days before this year’s World Contraception Day, the campaign was launched with an interactive Online Press Conference.

Participating journalists from around the world were presented with, to name a few: the new website at your-life.com, Bayer Schering Pharma’s first global Sex & Love Survey among teenagers, and the Youth Task Force – a team of young celebrities from all over the world who act as ambassadors of the “talk contraception” message in order to motivate young people to openly approach the topics of sexuality and contraception.

Some of the Youth Task Force members are: Denise Keller (MTV Asia VJ, Discovery Travel & Living host), Claire Oelkers (MTV Germany VJ, singer for the band Karpartenhund), Stuart Heritage (hecklerspray.com, The Guardian), Phelipe Cruz (papelpop.com).

www.your-life.com

The website www.your-life.com is the interactive platform for the campaign, on which online and offline events, related information and the Youth Task Force celebrities are all brought together online.

Besides giving voice to selected experts and the Youth Task Force members, the site is about giving young people themselves a chance to speak out: in the „Love Talk“ and „Couple of the Week“ contests, users can upload their own stories and videos to start discussions and win prizes.

All visitors to the site may also take part in the global Love Survey, and, using an Event-Finder, locate specific events related to the World Contraception Day campaign in their own countries. A comprehensive Help Tool also makes it possible to quickly and easily find local organizations and contacts related to questions about sexuality and contraception.
